ยังไม่หมดช่วงควันหลงของช่วงปีใหม่ 2021 มากนัก รายการจัดลำดับรางวัลของแต่ละรายการยังคงมีมาอยู่อีกหลาย ๆ เจ้า หนึ่งในนั้น Steam Awards 2020 ถือเป็นรางวัลใหญ่ที่พิสูจน์ให้เห็นว่าเกมที่ได้รับรางวัล คือเกมจากเสียงของมหาชนอย่างแท้จริง (เพราะคะแนนมาจากที่ผู้เล่นโหวตโดยตรง) ซึ่งตำแหน่งของ Game of the Year ในปีนี้ตกเป็นของ Red Dead Redemption2
